Murray and I love auctions. You never know what you will find, but you can be sure that you will always find something. Last week we spent the day doing what we like best, at an auction.
I am so delighted that the first event held in my renovated basement was indeed a very special celebration – a vintage baby shower hosted by my sisters for our nephew, Brent, and his wife, Angel. And I am thrilled to report that baby Sailor has arrived. Everyone is happy, healthy, and my sister Carla is loving her role as doting grandma!
The Hoosier-style cabinet in the dining room is one of my favorite pieces of furniture. And I continue to change the items I display on the cabinet – sometimes several times a day! Even though the ground outside is white with snow and more is falling and on the way as I write this, I have decided to forge ahead with Spring decorations.
There is nothing more perfect for a sweet Valentine treat than sugar cookies!! This recipe has been a favorite of my husband’s family for several generations. Wow – welcome 2013. You know the old saying – How time flies when you’re having fun. Well friends, Pat and I are looking forward to a fun-filled 2013 doing what we love best – spending time together and sharing our love of decorating with you.
Now that our Christmas decorations have been put away for another year, the house seems rather empty and bare. To me February is a time to stay inside where it is warm, bake some sweet treats, and spend time with the ones you love. So in the spirit of Cupid we are going to do some Valentines decorating.
