It seems like more and more time is passing between my posts on the blog!!  April and May have been extremely busy months for the sisters.  We are preparing for Britney (Carla’s daughter) and Justin’s wedding on June 7.  On April 27 we had Britney’s bridal shower at my house.  A great time was had by all.  On Saturday, May 3, SistersCg loaded Kathi’s truck and Carla’s car and headed for the Six Chics Spring Market in Clinton, IL.  Hope you enjoy the pictures of some of our wares!!!Read More »

For many years, whenever my sisters and I would get together we would spend a great deal of time making all sorts of plans – plans for trips we want to go on, plans for shops and tearooms we wanted to visit, plans for upcoming celebrations, plans for our futures, plans for our children’s futures, and plans for our dream job of owning our own business.  We would talk for hours and be all excited about our plans, but the time to leave would come and we would say our good-byes, share hugs and kisses and with lots of “I Love You’s” we would return to our homes, our jobs and the realities of life.  But we always had our plans and dreams in the back of our minds.Read More »

I am so delighted that the first event held in my renovated basement was indeed a very special celebration – a vintage baby shower hosted by my sisters for our nephew, Brent, and his wife, Angel.  And I am thrilled to report that baby Sailor has arrived.  Everyone is happy, healthy, and my sister Carla is loving her role as doting grandma!

Basement Remodel

Seven years ago, my husband Murray and I were so blessed to be able to build our dream retirement home.  Although it is not a large home, a one-level 1412 square foot ranch, it is perfect for us.  The full basement was not finished, although we have used it for several family gatherings.  And it is the perfect place for our granddaughters to run, play, and ride scooters. This summer we decided it was time to do something with the basement, but how to remodel it was a tough decision.  I knew what I did not want – a drop ceiling, carpeting on the floor, and drywall on the walls.  I wanted something unique, a perfect place to display all of my treasures, and an open area for the girls to have a lot of fun.Read More »

Kathi’s Kitchen

Although I am sad summer is winding down, I look forward to Fall in the Midwest.  It is a beautiful time of the year.  I love the cooler weather, bonfires, and most of all, the colors of Fall.  When Pat and I decided to take some pictures from my house, I asked her if she thought it was too soon to start decorating for Fall.  We decided, since Autumn will be here before we know it, let’s go ahead and start with Fall decorating ideas.

You will see many handmade decorations in our homes.  That is because we recently started a business called SistersCg.  SistersCg has been a dream of ours for many years.   All of our items are handmade. You can pick the color you want or specify the saying on the burlap bags (which will be featured in our next blog).  All you have to do is let us know exactly what you want.   If you are interested in any of the items with the SistersCg tag, let us know.  You can contact us at, we are on Facebook – SistersCg, or just email us here at More »
