My last post featured the old screen door that is now hanging on the wall of my guest bedroom. As you will remember, I was contemplating how to decorate the door. I decided that a burlap wreath would be perfect.

For many years, whenever my sisters and I would get together we would spend a great deal of time making all sorts of plans – plans for trips we want to go on, plans for shops and tearooms we wanted to visit, plans for upcoming celebrations, plans for our futures, plans for our children’s futures, and plans for our dream job of owning our own business. We would talk for hours and be all excited about our plans, but the time to leave would come and we would say our good-byes, share hugs and kisses and with lots of “I Love You’s” we would return to our homes, our jobs and the realities of life. But we always had our plans and dreams in the back of our minds.Read More »
A VINTAGE BABY SHOWER!
I am so delighted that the first event held in my renovated basement was indeed a very special celebration – a vintage baby shower hosted by my sisters for our nephew, Brent, and his wife, Angel. And I am thrilled to report that baby Sailor has arrived. Everyone is happy, healthy, and my sister Carla is loving her role as doting grandma!
Basement Remodel Part 2
I am so thrilled with how beautiful the basement remodel turned out. I love this area! It reminds me of an old barn (which I love) or a quaint little antique shop – very rustic, but so cozy, warm, and inviting.
Basement Remodel

The full basement was not finished, although we have used it for several family gatherings. And it is the perfect place for our granddaughters to run, play, and ride scooters. This summer we decided it was time to do something with the basement, but how to remodel it was a tough decision. I knew what I did not want – a drop ceiling, carpeting on the floor, and drywall on the walls. I wanted something unique, a perfect place to display all of my treasures, and an open area for the girls to have a lot of fun.Read More »
IN KATHI’S BACKYARD
I live in a small town and am lucky to have a big backyard. The old privacy fence gives my backyard a country look.

Although I am sad summer is winding down, I look forward to Fall in the Midwest. It is a beautiful time of the year. I love the cooler weather, bonfires, and most of all, the colors of Fall. When Pat and I decided to take some pictures from my house, I asked her if she thought it was too soon to start decorating for Fall. We decided, since Autumn will be here before we know it, let’s go ahead and start with Fall decorating ideas.
You will see many handmade decorations in our homes. That is because we recently started a business called SistersCg. SistersCg has been a dream of ours for many years. All of our items are handmade.
