Spring is my favorite time of the year. The farm is changing daily with new growth and blooms. My morning walks are even more enjoyable as I am serenaded by the singing of the many birds as they welcome each new day. Last week we received some much needed rainfall. I am anxious for the return of sunshine and warm weather.
The hostas are looking wonderful. They seem to grow overnight.
Old buckets make great planters.
Flower garden #1. Last year, I planted a small patch of zinnias and cosmos. This year, I am planting two large areas of zinnias, sunflowers, lavender, marigolds, and wildflowers. Several varieties of zinnias, sunflowers, and lavender have been planted in this garden. The first planting is just coming through the soil. My plan – a flower farm – selling fresh heirloom flowers. I am so excited!!!
Flower garden #2 – wildflowers and marigolds are planted in this garden.
Murray is building a flower cart. Antique wagon wheels – how appropriate for heirloom flowers.
I can’t wait for this to be finished.
Stay tuned for more exciting updates from Idylwood Farm, our Home on Grange Hall Road.
