ANOTHER VISIT TO THE BACKYARD

My how things have changed in the backyard since the blog last month!  This spring was very, very wet and cool which made for slow start to the growing season.  Now, however, summer is in full swing and the warm, humid temperatures are ideal for lush, beautiful plants and crops.

The petunias in the old sink are lovely.  I love the beautiful purple colors.

We planted hardy ever-blooming rose bushes around the old sink and the bird bath.

We decided to frame the area with stone edgers and fill the area with 2” river rock.  I think it looks fantastic.  And the best part is that we can add onto the area at any time by simply removing some of the edgers, adding more plants or interesting items, forming the new edge in whatever shape we choose and adding more rock.

The berries are growing nicely.  It will be a couple more weeks until they are ready.

Our next blog will be a visit to Kathi’s backyard.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Until next time,

Pat & Kathi
