Welcome to my home. I can’t believe Easter is fast approaching and that means Spring is on the way! I have a lilac bush outside my kitchen window and the other day there were 5 red cardinals in the bush. It was so pretty to see. I wish I had some photography skills, it would have been a beautiful picture. But for now, come inside and see some pictures of my house.
This old green cabinet is in my kitchen, it is one of my favorite pieces. I bought it at a yard sale years ago. It had a wasp nest in it. Luckily the wasps had moved on. I think I paid $35 for it. I smile just thinking of what a great bargain I got. The cut glass pieces and the Tea Leaf were my mother-in-law’s. She passed away a few years ago. I love them and I think of her every time I look at them.
P.S. If you love this green cabinet, check back, I have plans to paint it and move it to my living room.
Do you ever go into a store and see a display and wish you could take the whole thing home and put it a corner of your house because it is so cute. Well, that is what I was thinking when saw this old wooden folding chair at an estate sale. They had 4 and I bought all of them. For now, I added an Easter egg wreath and a stuffed bunny. When fall comes I will put a metal pumpkin on it. The great thing is you can change it with the seasons. If you have an old window frame, all you have to do is hang it on the wall. This too you can add seasonal decorations to it. Hang the Easter egg wreath from the window, change it to a burlap wreath for fall and a evergreen wreath at Christmas. I have several of these old window frames in my house. I love to decorate with them.
My husband Dave made the bench and coat rack for me out of old red barnwood. Instead of hooks he used antique white porcelain door knobs. On the bench I added a lighted glass jar and a canvas picture of my 2 adorable grandsons, Carter and Cohen. Of course everyone loves the picture of the boys. Instead of hanging it I sat in on the bench, is a different way to display it.
Thanks for stopping by to visit. To me, Spring means cleaning, decorating and painting. And I am ready to open up the windows, let some fresh air in, and give my house a Spring make over. Come back soon to see what we have accomplished.
